Finding out what people are really about in this world

Have you noticed how Google suggests search terms as you type in whatever it is you are searching for? Well, I always think it is a useful tool to find out what people are really about in this world. I mean, Google probably only suggests those choices based on what everyone is searching for, right? Well, to illustrate what I mean, take a look at these screenshots. I started out by typing some words, and let Google do the rest.

Some pranks to play on your office mates

The Internet gives us the opportunity to discover the funniest things – today I found some photos which depict some really cool pranks that people played on their office mates – by redecorating their cubicles. Maybe, you want to do that next to your colleagues. For every photo that you look at, just imagine if that was your cubicle when you arrived in office one morning. Here you go, have a look:

I have to say, someone did put in a lot of effort to play these pranks. I think office pranks are really the best, and let us stay kids even after we have left school.

A little bit of OS humor

I came upon this nice and funny image below about how various OS fanboys see their OS as compared to other OSes. It is not clear who is the owner of this to me, since it appears on so many sites, so I will just give the attribution to the place where I first saw it, which is the blog of Joey Devilla. Nothing funnier that kiddy-speak

One of the most interesting sites on the Internet is one that was put up by Scott Hanselman (as a way to record the words of wisdom of his kids). He opened it up so that others could make submissions as well. The site is called overheard@home. Here are some classic examples from the website:

3 yr old, watching the second hand…

"It’s 7 o’clock….now it’s 8 o’clock…now it’s NINE o’clock!!!"

7 year old – "ha ha, WALL-E thinks the booby trap is a pair of sunglasses!"

Me – "Erm, that’s not called a booby trap, its called a bra."

There are so many gems on that website that you can go on and on. And it is updated regularly as well. I have it in my bookmarks.

Although I had never pondered on why its called the Generation Y, but I received an email recently (one of those forwards) which had a very good caricature explaining exactly why its called the Generation Y. Here it is:

I have no idea who to attribute this image to, but I couldn’t help sharing it. It’s hilarious. Incidentally, here’s some serious reading about Generation Y.
