Zinio Free Magazine Offer still Running

A few weeks ago, I had talked about the free offer for magazines from Zinio. This offer was valid for iPhone users (and everyone else using a very cool trick). For the longest time, the magazines on offer remained the same and some people feared that the offer is no longer valid because of over exploitation by people (using the above mentioned cool trick). I feared the same myself. However, I am one of those people who keep trying (also I had not read all the magazines yet). A few days ago, when I visited the site, I noticed that some of the magazines have changed (this included a brand new PentHouse, amongst others). So, if you have been disappointed at seeing the same magazines again and again, then you need to visit again.

Zinio is a premier provider for online subscriptions to your favorite magazines. But, what happens if you don’t want to pay for them. Or you would like to read some magazine to see if you like it? Can you get them for free? It turns out that you can.

All you need is an iPhone – Zinio offers free subscriptions for a number of popular magazines, if you are an iPhone user. I suppose we can thank Apple for that. To get access to this subscription, simply visit http://www.zinio.com/iPhone using your iPhone and enjoy the free content.

But, I don’t have an iPhone and I still want free stuff – you are in luck, because you can still have it for free. Simply fool Zinio into thinking that you are using an iPhone. This tip on the Habitually Good blog tells you how.

Orkut launches mobile version

Digital Inspirations let us know that Google has launched a mobile version of Orkut. Now, apparently there has been no official announcement yet. So, this is something which is still under testing probably.

The Url for the mobile site is http://m.orkut.com. Here’s a look at the home page once you log in.

As you can see, the home page shows the Scraps that you have. It also shows the scraps that are in a different language (though I suspect that is a browser function more than anything).

Further features that you can access include Friend Updates, Friend’s list, and also your profile page.

Looks like you don’t need to be sitting in front of a computer to get updates from your friends anymore.
