Freeze a website in time
What do you do when you want to show your friend a website? you probably send them the Url of the website. What if you know that the content of the website will change before your friend gets to view it, what do you do then? Well, you freeze it.
Freezepage.com is a site which allows you to take instant snapshots of any site (or so I thought).
I tried to freeze blog.gadodia.net and got this:

Well this was the only one that I didn’t manage to freeze, here’s what Digg looks like at the time of writing this post:
http://www.freezepage.com/1206471259XWXVKUFJOP
So basically the way it works is that it would visit the site and copy it and save it. Then it gives you a URL which can be used to access it at a later time. There are limits of course about what you can freeze and what you can’t (mentioned in the FAQ).
Although the page’s javascript menus, etc. won’t work, it still manages to download a whole lot of things and the page does look very much like it does on the main site. It will even copy flash. For instance visit this URL:
http://www.freezepage.com/1206471515EGXCLYHBED
This is a flash game which was frozen. You can even play the complete game on that URL. Now this can really make things interesting. I can imagine people freezing things which have the potential of being banned elsewhere.
