Global warming is going to happen in our lifetime
A lot of people tend to have an attitude that the effects of Global Warming are going to show up hundreds of years from now and by then we would have done something to encounter them. Well, guess what, that’s not true. Global Warming is here and now. It’s already starting altering the planet and its happening faster than anyone ever imagined.
For the first time ever since the last ice age (that was 150,000 years ago), the arctic has become an island because of the ice melting due to global warming. The telegraph is carrying the article: Arctic becomes an island as ice melts. According to this article, the arctic may soon be ice free during summers. What I find pretty sad is that shipping companies are actually rejoicing because of this ice melting as it reduces the distance they need to travel for certain routes (since now they can go over channels where ice used to block the way earlier).
It is certainly up to us to do something about this. Some people are trying really hard (Better Place), but this won’t be nearly enough unless EVERYONE works on this problem.

Global Warming and Climate Change is the biggest environmental issue that we face these days. the long term effects of these environmental changes to a nations economy is quite damaging. there would be a shortage in food supply as well as on water supply too.
