Read books at work, without getting caught
Here’s a tip that not many employers would like their employees to know about. How would you like to spend time at work reading your favorite book and yet if someone takes a look at you, you will seem deeply engrossed in work? I bet, a lot of people would love to be able to do just that (if you like to read books that is).
There is a great website called Read At Work. Basically, when you go to this website, and ‘log in’ (go there to see what I mean). You are switched to a full screen mode of the browser with a web page that looks exactly like a Windows Desktop (complete with a task bar, a recycle bin, and a bunch of folders on the Desktop).
These folders contain various files which represent popular books. Double Clicking these folders allows you to see what is inside each one (take a look at the pictures below):
Now comes the real kicker. Double clicking any of these ‘files’ launches the book in a power point format. Take a look at the following screen captures when I was viewing the Animal Farm by George Orwell.
If anyone does catch you, they will think that you are working on some important task.
Of course, I don’t encourage goofing off at work, but there are times when you just need a little break.
